Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a bookkeeper?

You need a bookkeeper to ensure that accurate information is always on hand to successfully run your business.  A bookkeeper ensures you have the correct records to make decisions as well as to minimise the stress of compliance.

Why a bookkeeper and not an accountant?

A bookkeeper acts as a bridge between yourself and your accountant. A bookkeeper ensues all information is current and available and can simplify the process. The accountant then spends less time on the day to day detail and is therefore freed up to look at the big picture of your business and advise accordingly.

How much does a bookkeeper charge?

No two businesses have the same requirements so we tailor a solution to fit your needs using set fees for monthly billing. That way you can budget for an expense that has all charges included. As a guide bookkeeping starts at $66 an hour, onsite $77 an hour and BAS lodgement is charged per lodgement $220.

Are you available to come to my premises?

We offer onsite bookkeeping but have very few onsite clients. With the use of bank feeds, cloud accounting and applications time spent on accounts is minimised so the majority of clients are serviced remotely at a reduced cost.

Can any bookkeeper do BAS lodgements?

Although you are able to lodge your own personal/business BAS, only the holder of a BAS license is able to lodge a BAS legally. This ensures that your lodgements are performed by an accredited expert.

What software is the correct one for my business?

The only person that can answer this question is you. All software offer different features and differ in platform set up. We offer Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB as options and can advise but do recommend that you sign up for a trial before making a decision.
