Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a bookkeeper?

You need a bookkeeper to ensure that accurate information is always on hand to help with decision making.  We work on our client files daily to ensure this information is always up to date. Having a bookkeeper importantly minimises the stress of staying compliant.

Why a bookkeeper and not an accountant?

A bookkeeper acts as a bridge between yourself and your accountant. A bookkeeper ensues all information is correct and available to the accountant. The accountant then spends less time on the day to day detail and is therefore freed up to look at the big picture of your business and advise accordingly.

How much does a bookkeeper charge?

No two businesses have the same requirements so we tailor a solution to fit your needs using set fees for monthly billing. That way you can budget for an expense that has all charges included. As a guide we offer bookkeeping at $70 an hour, BAS Agent work $90 an hour, and BAS lodgement is charged per lodgement $220.

Are you available to come to my premises?

We no longer offer onsite bookkeeping. With the use of bank feeds, cloud accounting and applications time spent on accounts is minimised so our clients are serviced remotely at a reduced cost. We are however always available to answer our clients questions.

Can any bookkeeper do BAS lodgements?

Although you are able to lodge your own personal/business BAS, only the holder of a BAS license is able to lodge a BAS legally. This ensures that your lodgements are performed by an accredited expert and are lodged both correctly and on time.

What software is the correct one for my business?

The only person that can answer this question is you. All software offer different features and differ in platform set up. We offer Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB but do recommend that you sign up for a trial before making a decision. We are always happy to be involved in the set up once you have made decided what works for you.
